What We’re Up To: Our Latest

With the nights drawing in and the rain(!), it feels like the right time to pause and share a little of what we’ve been up to over the past few weeks. It’s been busy, as ever, but also full of those small moments that remind us why we do this work.

Keeping ourselves sharp

This month we’re heading into Train-the-Trainer. For us, it’s more than just a date in the diary. It’s a chance to make sure our in-house training team stays up to date with new techniques, changes in legislation, and the subtle refinements that only come from spending time with other trainers. It’s also a chance to talk, swap ideas, and share stories from the front line. No matter how long you’ve been doing this work, there’s always something new to learn.

Back on home turf

We’ve also been running two courses here in Wales, which always feels special. One was with a registered mental health charity whose work ranges from horticultural therapy to creative arts, supporting people living with mental health challenges and autism. To deliver training for organisations like this, in our own homeland, is a real privilege. It’s a reminder that the skills we teach ripple outwards, making spaces safer and giving people the confidence to support others.

A couple of birthdays

September brought a celebration too: Charlie turned 67. Not long after, it’ll be Nick’s turn - and yes, he’s still not 40. We couldn’t let that pass without a smile.

Our work is serious, but we’re also a team, and marking these moments matters.

Looking ahead

Autumn is always one of our busiest times. Courses stack up, refreshers get booked in, and everyone wants to be ready before Christmas. It’s hard work, but it’s the kind of busy we welcome, because every booking means another group of people stepping into the season a little safer and more confident.

We’ll keep sharing updates as the months go on. For now, thank you to everyone who has trusted us with your training - whether it’s been PMVA, Train-the-Trainer, or a refresher course. We don’t take it for granted.

Here’s to a safe and steady Autumn.
